I am Edith Parra. I am a Graphite portrait artist who resides in Texas. I’ve dabbled in different art mediums such as watercolor, color-pencil, oil painting and etc, but have found my passion in Graphite drawing. I enjoy doing realistic works of people, famous or just the everyday average person. I love drawing people, nothing brings me greater joy than bringing them to life on paper. Hello my name is Paula, and I am doing a poster about you and your art of work in my Advertising Art and Design class. I am very inspired by your work, I think it takes talent and patient to get where your are right now. One day i am planning to become an artist such like you. Im a bit of an armature in my drawing. Well getting to point, I would like if you can answer some of my questions. What or who inspired you to draw the way you do? At what age did you start drawing? When did you start noticing your talent? What or who do you think you have impact with your art? And what part in your background do you think effects you the most in your art?
So sorry for the late reply, I just barely noticed your comment. Not sure if its to late to answer your questions but, here they are. I got inspired when I saw the book “Draw Real People” By Lee Hammond when I was ten years old and I wanted to see if I could ever draw people realistically. It took me years to get into the level I am now, but I started noticing my talent sometime after I took Art courses in highschool and college and I find inspiration in everyday things like movies, music and etc. I mostly draw portraits of actors/musicans from both Old and Modern Hollywood, occasionally I also draw Non-famous people when I get requested for commissions by private individuals. As to what part of my background effects my art, I guess it might be the everyday things in life.
